OxyElite Pro Powder Reviews
When OxyElite Pro hit the market, it created a significant sensation worldwide.
Consumers loved its abilities to increase energy levels and maximize fat burning. Though it toed safety lines, OxyElite Pro quickly worked its way up the charts.
However, OxyElite Pro contained yohimbe, which is illegal to import and export in Australia. The product was quickly banned by the Australian government.
Consequently, USP Labs formulated a new thermogenic supplement specifically for Australian users: OxyElite Pro Powder.
Offering the same ingredients as the original OxyElite Pro, this powder is yohimbe-free with a flavorful new twist.
But can it offer the same fat-burning results?
OxyElite Pro Powder contains an 80 mg proprietary blend with the following ingredients, as well as additional flavors and sweeteners.
1,3 Dimethylamylamine. Also known as DMAA, this stimulant interacts with the central nervous system to increase energy levels and focus. It is touted as a natural fat burner and metabolism booster, and may even suppress appetite.
Bauhinia. Bauhinia is commonly used to speed recovery and eliminate toxins from the body. However, additional research still needs to be conducted.
Bacopa. Bacopa decreases anxiety and protects the brain against Alzheimer’s disease. It contains chemicals which improve thinking, learning, and memory. Further studies are needed to determine these claims’ validity.
Cirsium. More commonly known as Japanese thistle, this herb is a natural source of caffeine. It increases energy levels, decrease appetite, and gives you the boost you need for more effective workouts.
Higenamine. Higenamine is a stimulant commonly used to improve athletic performance. Like so many other stimulants in OxyElite Pro Powder, it increases energy and decreases appetite.
Yohimbe. Although OxyElite Pro Powder does not list yohimbe on the label, many consumers suspect the supplement still contains traces of this ingredient. Yohimbe is a natural aphrodisiac which stimulates libido and improves energy levels and stamina.
Caffeine. OxyElite Pro Powder contains 100 mg caffeine, which is equivalent to a strong cup of coffee. Caffeine interacts with adenosine receptors to increase alertness and energy levels. It stimulates metabolism to improve fat burning as well.
Should You Be Worried About Side Effects?
Both OxyElite Pro and OxyElite Pro Powder put effectiveness over safety. The ingredients are primarily stimulants, so the negative side effects risk is greatly increased.
For instance, caffeine (and higenamine which contains caffeine) causes headaches, dizziness, insomnia, restlessness, trembling and rapid heartbeat. Caffeine sensitivity varies for individuals, and though some handle the 100 mg dose of caffeine easily, others do not. Additionally, caffeine interacts negatively with various medications, including birth control and blood thinners.
Furthermore, OxyElite Pro and OxyElite Pro Powder contain DMAA, which is linked to severe side effects such as liver damage, seizures, and stroke.
In April 2004, the FDA issued warning letters to various diet pill manufacturers (USP Labs included) to stop selling products containing this dangerous ingredient.
Consequently, both OxyElite Pro and OxyElite Pro Powder were removed from the shelves. A reformulated DMAA-free edition of OxyElite Pro is starting to hit the shelves, but OxyElite Pro Powder won’t be available until the first quarter of 2013.
Some sellers are still selling original OxyElite Pro and OxyElite Pro Powders in their stores, so if you find these products, please exercise caution before use.
How to Use OxyElite Pro Powder
OxyElite Pro Powder should be taken in the morning before breakfast. Using the micro scoop provided, add 1 gram (1 serving) to 250 mL of water into a shaker. Shake for 10 seconds.
For enhanced fat burning, an additional scoop may be taken 4 to 6 hours later.
Do not take more than 2 servings in a 24 hour time period.
OxyElite Pro Powder is available in watermelon, raspberry lemonade, and grape bubblegum flavors. Taste preferences vary among individuals. Some love the flavor, others found it unpleasant.
According to Massive Joe’s review posted on Facebook.com, “The micro-dosing (1 gram per serve) is also pretty neat – it means that you are getting a concentrated hit of only the most critical fat burning ingredients, without any “pixie dust” or fillers to throw a curve ball at your fat loss goals. And what’s even better, USPlabs OxyELITE Powder tastes pretty good too, so you won’t dread your pre-cardio dose every morning.”
And according to Yaboyjake at DualFit.com’s forum, “MIXABILITY: Mixes well, does leave a little bit of powder on the bottom that doesnt mix though, so when you drink the last bit you always have that powder texture left there. TASTE: The watermelon flavour doesnt taste to much like watermelon, sort of got a fruit punch flavour more to it. but still tolerable and refreshing.”
Due to the banning both in the US and in Australia, OxyElite Pro Powder is becoming increasingly difficult to purchase. Some sites still sell the old product, but they are quickly out of stock.
At the time of this review, the following sites still sold OxyElite Pro Powder, but this may change quickly due to popular demand and limited availability.
• EHealthSupplements.com.au: $89.95 (AUD)
• SportysHealth.com.au: $64.95
• ProAtheleteFitness.com.au: $79.95

USP Labs has a great reputation for customer service. In the last 3 years, only 3 complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau, all of which received a satisfactory response.
Furthermore, they offer a great guarantee that covers all USP Labs products, whether you purchased your supplement at USPLabsDirect.com or elsewhere.
“At USPlabs, we are supremely confident that you’ll love our products. We receive a countless number of testimonials from satisfied customers every day. If for whatever reason you are not satisfied with any product bearing our name, simply return it to us with your receipt for a quick & courteous refund.”
OxyElite Pro Powder has great potential for improving athletic performance and shedding stubborn pounds. While it might not be the safest supplement on the market, many consumers love OxyElite Pro’s and OxyElite Pro Powder’s fast-acting results.
While I cannot recommend a banned product, I look forward to seeing OxyElite Pro Powder’s reformulation and whether it can live up to the OxyElite reputation for success.
