EPIQ Shred Reviews
Brand new from MuscleTech and Iovate Sciences, EPIQ Shred is a diet pill said to trigger weight loss without using dangerous stimulants.
According to advertisements, EPIQ Shred produces the same powerful weight loss you’d see with a stimulant-based diet pill with just 6 natural ingredients in its core formula. Furthermore, EPIQ supplements require you to take just 1 capsule, twice a day.
MuscleTech is the name behind the popular Hydroxycut line, so I’m always eager to check out anything from them. In this review, I’ll cover the EPIQ Shred ingredient profile, usage instructions, and pricing. Then I’ll determine whether EPIQ Shred lives up to its claims or just another forgettable diet pill.

The EPIQ Shred Formula
EPIQ Shred contains 6 all-natural ingredients in a 460 mg blend called the “EPIQ Shred Matrix” to boost metabolism and trigger fat burning. Beyond that, advertisements don’t tell us exactly how EPIQ Shred works. To determine that, we’ll need to look at the formula ourselves.
Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)
A popular ingredient in non-stimulating diet pills, CLA burns fat without affecting the central nervous system or breaking down muscle tissue. It has been scientifically tested several times, yielding mixed results: some studies say CLA provides modest weight loss, others say CLA doesn’t affect body composition at all. Even in the successful studies, CLA was needed in 1.8-7 gram doses . This dosage level is impossible in a 460 mg blend.
Raspberry ketone is another non-stimulant. It rose to popularity when television personality Dr. Oz called it a “miracle fat burner” on his television show. Raspberry ketone has proven effective in initial animal studies, but still needs human trial validation. Consequently, proper dosing for raspberry ketone is not known.
Green Coffee Bean Extract
Green coffee bean is another Dr. Oz-recommended fat burner. It is also the only ingredient in EPIQ Shred to have a quantity attached—200 mg. In this dosage, green coffee bean triggered a 17-pound weight loss in test subjects in a 2012 study .
L-Carnitine, with L-Tartrate
Although l-carnitine hasn’t been specifically tested for weight loss, it does possess a few weight loss properties. L-carnitine reduces fat mass, increases lean muscle mass, and raises energy levels. All of these properties lead to weight loss. L-tartrate increases l-carnitine’s absorption. However, l-carnitine is recommended in at least 990 mg—a dosage that won’t be possible in a 460 mg blend .
White Kidney Bean
Yet another Dr. Oz alum, white kidney bean is considered an appetite suppressant and carb blocker. When used correctly, white kidney bean keeps you from overeating and flushes the carbs you do eat as waste. This prevents carbs from adding to existing fat stores. These are impressive properties, but the only white kidney bean study was conducted by a party interested in marketing white kidney bean. This means we can’t entirely trust the outcome.
Saffron doesn’t directly trigger weight loss, but it does keep you happy and healthy. Saffron raises serotonin levels in the brain, which fights off dieting blues. It also prevents the hardening of arteries, according to WebMD.
EPIQ Shred is also supported by 6 vitamins and minerals in addition to the weight loss matrix.
It seems EPIQ Shred’s weight loss plan is the same as most other diet pills’—boost metabolism, burn fat, and suppress appetite. This formula, however, may not be able to provide all that.
Green coffee bean is the only ingredient included in its recommended dose. Other ingredients, like raspberry ketone, don’t have recommended doses while the remainders require much larger doses to be effective.
The EPIQ Shred listing on GNC differs from the listing on EPIQResults.com, describing EPIQ Shred has a 485 mg blend. However, even these extra 25 mg won’t put CLA or l-carnitine at an effective dose.
I’d say this product may help you lose a little weight—mainly on green coffee bean’s strength—but I wouldn’t hold out hope for real and lasting weight loss.
How to Use EPIQ Shred
One positive aspect of EPIQ Shred is how easy it is to use. MuscleTech asks that you take 1 capsule twice a day, 30-60 minutes before your 2 largest meals. For most people, this is lunch and dinner. Considering the caffeine content in green coffee, don’t take EPIQ Shred within a few hours of bedtime. Green coffee sometimes causes insomnia.
Dr. Oz says green coffee bean sparks fat loss even without diet and exercise, but for best results, I recommend following a low-calorie diet and exercising regularly while taking EPIQ Shred.
EPIQ Shred Pros
• Easy to use
• Contains clinically-proven doses of green coffee bean
• Low risk of side effects
• No artificial colors or dyes
EPIQ Shred Cons
• Ingredients listed in a proprietary blend
• Insufficient doses of several ingredients
• No unbiased and reliable customer reviews yet available
• Contains the stimulant green coffee, when advertised as stimulant-free
Purchasing EPIQ Shred
EPIQ Shred is a new product, so it’s only available in 2 places—GNC and Lucky Vitamin.
GNC offers EPIQ Shred for $49.99, or for $39.99 if you have a GNC Gold Card. Lucky Vitamin sells EPIQ Shred for $39.99. Both GNC and Lucky Vitamin are well-established, trusted retailers.
Given MuscleTech’s availability expansion with Hydroxycut, I’m sure you won’t have to wait long before EPIQ Shred is available from other retailers.
The Final Word on EPIQ Shred
EPIQ Shred doesn’t seem to be too epic at all. With a small proprietary blend and only 1 ingredient included in its proper dose, EPIQ Shred probably won’t make a big difference in your weight loss efforts. However, if EPIQ Shred interests you, I’d wait a bit and see what EPIQ Shred users have to say about their experience with the product.
