What is 48 Hour Coconut Cleanse?
This cleanse is a short-term detox beverage developed and marketed by Fruitology, Inc. The fact that it is called “48 Hour” is a little misleading as the company actually instructs you “for the first 5 days take 1 ounce prior to morning meal and 1 ounce prior to evening meal. (30 ml) Thereafter, take one 1 ounce dose daily prior to morning meal.”
It is meant to provide “results” after only 48 hours, and it claims the following benefits:
- Intestinal regularity
- Healthy levels of intestinal bacteria
- Healthy blood glucose levels
48 Hour Coconut Cleanse Ingredients
For a coconut cleanse, you’d think that it would be more focused on the benefits of coconut, but the primary component listed here is a proprietary blend of 1200mg including
- Aloe Vera Gel
- Green Tea
Listed under “Other” ingredients are:
- Coconut Extract
- Xanthan and Guar Gum, Carrageenan
- Resistant Maltodextrin
- Concentrated Juice Blend (Grape, Cranberry, Cherry, Pomegranate)
- Evaporated Cane Juice
- Citric and Ascorbic Acids
So aside from being a fairly simple fruit juice with some starch thickeners, the inclusion of aloe vera and green tea make this product more rich in antioxidants and potentially helpful at improving digestive function.
Does 48 Hour Coconut Cleanse have a Satisfaction Guarantee?
When purchased directly from the company, there is a 30-day return policy in effect, where you may receive your money back if you are not satisfied. When bought from other distributors, the guarantee depends on the distributors policies and may not be in effect..
48 Hour Coconut Cleanse Conclusion
Generally this product seems to be fairly weak as a detox. It is true that consuming foods with fiber and antioxidants can certainly help promote regularity and even help you lose weight and boost energy but this is no substitute for a healthy diet and doesn’t appear to add much to one either.
A product warning mentions “Do not use if you have or develop diarrhea, loose stools or abdominal pain because aloe barbadensis may worsen these conditions and be harmful to your health.”
Apparently at this dosage the product may cause some problems that are definitely not associated with intestinal regularity.” For whatever price, we’re not that impressed with this product.
